Every major event platform can now be reached by an AI assistant. That part is settled.

What is not settled is how, and how much you can learn before you commit. Some vendors publish their MCP endpoint, so you can inspect it directly. Some have built a server and share the details through their team. And some have chosen a different route, connecting through a bridge that a third party built.

That split is the most useful way to compare these products right now. It is also the fastest, because it comes down to one question anyone can answer in ten seconds: can you see the endpoint?

This comparison sorts nine platforms that way, then looks at the second question that matters most. Whether the AI can change your event data, or only read it.

One clarification before the table. “Open” here means the endpoint is published, so anyone can inspect it. It does not mean open source. None of the servers in this comparison are open source, including Eventtia’s.

Summary: which event platforms have an MCP server?

All information below comes from public vendor documentation and public Zapier app pages, checked as of August 24, 2026.

The short version. Two platforms publish their endpoint openly. Three have built a server and share the details directly with customers. Four connect through a bridge today. All nine are reachable from an AI assistant in some form, and the differences are about depth and how much you can see up front.

A note on third-party bridges

A bridge is built by a third party, usually an automation company like Zapier or a data connector company like CData, working on top of the platform’s public API. What a bridge can reach depends on that API, so the experience varies between platforms. It is a good idea to ask the vendor what a bridge connection covers before you build a workflow around it.

What is an MCP server for event management software?

An MCP server is a secure connection between your event platform and the AI assistant you already use. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot read your event data and run event tasks in plain language.

The standard matters more than it sounds. Anthropic created MCP and donated it to the Linux Foundation in December 2025. It is now governed by the Agentic AI Foundation, whose platinum members include Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft and OpenAI. MCP is not one company’s format. It is neutral ground that competing AI companies agreed to share.

What is the difference between an open MCP, a closed MCP and a bridge?

The three categories describe who built the connection and how much of it you can see before you commit.

An open MCP server is built by the event platform, and the vendor publishes the endpoint URL. You can connect and see for yourself what the assistant is able to do. Eventtia and Swoogo are in this group.

A closed MCP server is also built by the event platform, with the details shared through a demo, a sales conversation or an account manager rather than published on the website. RainFocus, vFairs and InEvent are in this group.

A bridge is built by a third party, usually an automation company like Zapier or a data connector company like CData, working on top of the platform’s public API. Swapcard, Cvent, Accelevents and Whova are reachable this way.

Closed is a legitimate choice, and often a deliberate one. RainFocus generates a private server URL for each customer so an administrator can decide exactly what that customer’s assistant is able to do. vFairs works through an account manager because the product is still in beta and they want to guide early users. Both make sense.

The practical effect for a buyer is simply that comparison takes longer. You learn what these servers do inside a conversation rather than from a documentation page.

How does a bridge compare with a vendor-built server?

Both let you talk to your event data from an AI assistant. They work differently, and the differences are worth knowing.

Depth. A vendor-built server is designed around how event teams work. A bridge is a general purpose automation layer working with whatever the platform’s public API exposes. Bridges are genuinely useful, and they are simply built for a different job.

A bridge works with the API it is given. This is the part people miss. If a platform does not publish a broad public API, a bridge has less to work with, no matter how good the bridge provider is.

Permissions. A vendor-built server can inherit your role, so signing in gives the assistant the same access your account already has. A bridge connects through the automation platform’s stored credentials instead, which works differently. Zapier notes that app and action restrictions set on an Enterprise account are not currently carried through.

Cost. The vendor-built servers in this comparison are included with the platform. A bridge like Zapier MCP runs on your existing task quota, and each call the assistant makes uses part of that quota. An assistant that works hard can move through a plan quickly.

Support. With a vendor-built server, the company that built your platform supports the connection. With a bridge, two companies are involved, which is worth knowing before you depend on it.

Status. Zapier MCP is currently in beta.

For a team already running Zapier, connecting an event platform through it can be a fast and sensible win. It is a different product with a different ceiling, and both have their place.

Why does read versus write access matter so much?

Asking an assistant a question about your event saves you a login. Letting it make a change on your behalf saves you real time.

Both are valid products, and read only is the right starting point for plenty of teams. Just make sure you know which one you are buying, because they are different purchases.

Open MCP servers: what you can inspect before you buy

Two platforms publish their endpoint.

A. Eventtia MCP Server

Best for: teams that want their assistant to run the event, not just report on it.

Eventtia’s server supports read, write and delete operations, the broadest access level of any platform in this comparison.

What it covers: Events, attendees and registration, attendee types and custom form fields, sessions and agenda, workshops, speakers, check-in and access control, and payments.

How access works: Access tokens refresh automatically, and the server honors your existing Eventtia roles.

Price: Included in every Eventtia plan. It is not an add-on, not a premium tier, and there is no trial period that ends. If you are an Eventtia customer, you already have it.

Setup: Under 5 minutes. In Claude it is listed in the connectors library, so there is no server URL to paste. For Gemini, Copilot, Cursor or a custom agent, the endpoint is https://connect-mcp.eventtia.com/mcp.

Security and data management: Eventtia’s MCP follows the same security and data management protocols and standards as the Eventtia platform.

Documentation: Built on Eventtia REST API v4. The docs ship an llms.txt index in Markdown plus OpenAPI definitions per endpoint, so AI agents can read the documentation directly. Worth knowing: The MCP surface covers event operations rather than marketing campaigns, so email and matchmaking workflows still live in the platform itself.

B. Swoogo MCP Server

Best for: teams that want detailed public documentation.

Swoogo launched on April 6, 2026, and describes its server as the first native MCP server built by an event platform.

Access level: Read and write, with delete excluded by design. Swoogo notes that the server cannot delete events, and that edit operations ask for confirmation before they run.

What it covers: Events, sessions, registrants, speakers, sponsors, CRM contacts, registration packages, discount codes, transactions, and attendance data.

How access works: Access tokens refresh automatically, and the server honors your existing Swoogo roles.

Price: Included for all customers through Summer 2026. Swoogo has not yet published what happens after that date, so it is worth asking their team before you plan around it.

Setup: Swoogo publishes step by step guides for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and ChatGPT. A full user license and API key access are required.

Worth knowing: Swoogo’s setup guides and its product documentation describe the available access slightly differently, so confirm the current scope with their team if write access matters to your workflow.

Closed MCP servers: built, with details shared directly

Three platforms have built or announced an MCP server and share the specifics through their teams rather than publishing them. In each case there is a reason, and in each case you will learn the most from a conversation with the vendor.

C. RainFocus MCP Profiles

Best for: enterprise teams that want fine-grained control over what an assistant can do.

RainFocus launched MCP Profiles on July 8, 2026 as part of RainFocus Nexus. An MCP Profile is a configuration an administrator sets up for a specific task, choosing what an assistant using that profile is allowed to do. The system then generates a server URL for that profile, so two RainFocus customers can run quite different setups under the same product name.

How access works: Administrators control access on an event by event basis, with per profile configuration. It is one of the more thoughtfully designed access models in this comparison, and it is the reason the endpoint is generated rather than published.

Access level: RainFocus states that agents can read data and write changes, giving closing registration for sold out sessions and updating speaker details as examples.

Price: Not published. It sits inside RainFocus Nexus, and RainFocus has said it does not disclose Nexus pricing.

Worth knowing: Because each customer’s setup is generated individually, there is no standard configuration to compare against. A demo is the fastest way to see what it does for your programme.

D. vFairs MCP Server

Best for: teams that want AI reporting without changing anything.

vFairs launched on July 21, 2026. The beta is read only. It answers questions about your events and does not edit registrations, email attendees or remove anything.

What it covers: attendees, registrations, tickets, payments, session details, exhibitor information and portfolio level statistics.

How access works: An organization admin generates an access token, then adds vFairs as a custom connector. Access follows the roles and event permissions you already have, scoped per team and per event, and it can be switched off at any time.

Price: Not published.

Setup: You request access through your Customer Success Manager, which also means you get guided onboarding.

Worth knowing: It was in beta in August 2026, after a stated general availability target of August 15, so ask about current status and the roadmap for write access if that matters to you.

E. InEvent MCP

Best for: teams already on InEvent who want to start early.

InEvent announced its MCP on July 28, 2026. The announcement names ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot as supported assistants, and frames the release as a preview of a broader AI roadmap for the third quarter.

The technical details are not published yet, which is common this early after an announcement. As of when this article was written, the endpoint, access scope, pricing and setup instructions all come from the InEvent team rather than the website.

A second route works today. InEvent also has a Zapier bridge, documented and available now, though narrower than a native server.

InEvent has a mature set of in-platform AI features too, including photo matching, facial recognition check-in, business matchmaking, speech transcription and an AI website builder. Those are separate from MCP and worth looking at in their own right.

Worth knowing: If you are evaluating InEvent for MCP specifically, ask for the access scope and availability timeline in writing.

Third-party bridge only: connecting through a partner

Four platforms connect to AI assistants through a bridge rather than a server they built themselves. All four are reachable today.

F. Swapcard

Swapcard has not announced an MCP server of its own. Its AI investment has gone into products that run inside the platform.

The bridge route works well. Swapcard is reachable through Zapier, with both read and write access to organizer data such as attendee and exhibitor records. Of the four bridge platforms here, it offers the most complete connection.

The AI investment is substantial and internal. Swapcard launched EVAA in December 2025 as its AI initiative, alongside Sherlock, an attendee-facing assistant. Cortex is its organizer-side AI layer, and Gismo powers matchmaking and lead scoring. Swapcard reports that 27 percent of all platform interactions are AI driven, which is a strong number.

Worth knowing: Swapcard’s API is GraphQL with full create, read, update and delete support, so the foundation for a native server is already there if they choose to build one.

G. Cvent

Cvent has not announced an MCP server of its own, and has invested heavily in AI built into the platform.

The bridge routes. Zapier offers a connection with both read and write access to contacts and attendees. Separately, CData sells an MCP server that works with the Cvent REST API for data access, with a paid version that adds write access.

The AI product. Cvent launched CventIQ in June 2025, and announced more than 70 product innovations at Cvent CONNECT in July 2026, including 34 new AI capabilities backed by a stated 1 billion dollar technology investment. CventIQ Skills was described as integrating with Claude, ChatGPT and Salesforce Agentforce, with release expected in the second half of 2026. That is a significant commitment, and the technical approach has not been detailed publicly yet.

Worth knowing: Full Cvent API access is an Enterprise plan feature, so check your plan before planning a bridge connection. It is also worth confirming the source of any Cvent MCP listing you find in a public directory, since not all of them are maintained by Cvent.

H. Accelevents

Accelevents has not announced an MCP server yet. It is reachable through Zapier today, with a connection focused on importing ticket holders and buyers.

Worth knowing. Accelevents’ developer hub runs on ReadMe, and ReadMe generates a documentation MCP endpoint for its customers automatically. That endpoint is live on the Accelevents domain, but it is a documentation feature rather than an Accelevents product, so it is not the right thing to build a workflow on.

Accelevents’ AI work today centers on matchmaking, which their site describes as both AI driven and algorithm driven.

I. Whova

Whova has taken a different path so far. It has not announced an MCP server, and its Zapier connection focuses on adding and updating attendee records rather than reading data back out.

Whova does not currently publish a public developer API. Since a bridge works with whatever an API makes available, that shapes how much any connection can do today. If a broader public API arrives later, more becomes possible.

Whova’s connector strategy in 2026 has favored direct integrations with tools its customers already use, including HubSpot, OpenReview, Novi and Neon.

Their AI work focuses on helping organizers write. AI Companion drafts invitation emails and event descriptions, and an AI-Generated Event Summary assembles a post-event report. Both are built to work inside Whova, which is a different goal from opening the platform to outside assistants, and plenty of teams will find that useful.

Worth knowing: If connecting your own AI assistant is a priority, ask Whova about their API roadmap.

How should you evaluate an event management MCP server?

Ask five questions, in this order. Each one narrows the field faster than a feature list.

  1. Can you see the endpoint, or do you need a conversation? Neither is wrong. It just changes how long your evaluation takes.
  2. Can it write, or only read? Decide which product you are buying before you compare anything else.
  3. How does access work? Look for an assistant that inherits your own permissions, so what it can reach matches what you can reach.
  4. What does it cost, and for how long? Included during a launch period is not the same as included in the plan permanently. On a bridge, remember the task quota, since an active assistant can move through a plan quickly.
  5. Who supports it when something breaks? The platform vendor, or a third party working alongside them.
