Local payments, one event platform.

Many attendees in Latin America already pay online with Mercado Pago. Offering it at checkout means they pay with an account and methods they know. Mercado Pago is built into Eventtia, so there is nothing to build.

Setup

Connected in a few steps.

You need a Mercado Pago account with production credentials. Full instructions are in the help center.

  1. Step 01

    Activate your credentials

    In Mercado Pago, open Tu Negocio, then Configuración and Credenciales. Activate your production credentials.

  2. Step 02

    Copy two values

    Copy the public key and the access token.

  3. Step 03

    Choose Mercado Pago in your event

    In Eventtia, open the event, then Settings and Advanced Settings. In the payment options, select Mercado Pago, paste both values and save.

  4. Step 04

    Test, then open registration

    Make a test registration and check the payment in your Mercado Pago account. Then open the event.

Mercado Pago payment questions.

Do I need my own Mercado Pago account?

Yes. You connect your own Mercado Pago account to your event with its production credentials, and payments go to that account.

Does Eventtia charge a fee on payments?

No. Eventtia charges no fee on payments. Mercado Pago charges its own processing fees, under your contract with Mercado Pago.

Which payment methods can attendees use?

Cards and the local methods that your Mercado Pago account offers in your country. The methods depend on your country and on your Mercado Pago account settings.

How do refunds work?

In-platform refunds are only available with Stripe. With Mercado Pago, you make the refund in your Mercado Pago account and cancel the registration in Eventtia, which updates the attendee record.

Can I run events in several countries?

Yes. The payment provider is set per event, so each event can use the Mercado Pago account of its country, or another provider.

Which currency will attendees pay in?

You set the currency per event. Use the currency of the country of your Mercado Pago account.
